haven’t posted in a while.. haven’t really been on tumblr much lately to be quite honest. uhh, well freedom’s happy :) we’ve been having a bit of a tiff lately because he’s a lot of horse to handle and he’s kind of an ass outside the barnyard.. but my instructor from when i was little came back home from california and we had a lesson with her the other day. we were supposed to jump, but freedom was excited and snorting at the cows and bolting and spinning and hopping and being a jerk, but she helped me difuse the problem and we had a pretty good lesson overall! my mom suggested we sell freedom and get me an easier horse to ride because he gives me really bad anxiety, but i love freedom, and i love a challenging horse. i couldn’t sell him for anything!
Wednesday May 5 @ 08:08pmgot to ride freedom yesterday, and there’s a wooden bridge thing in the indoor, and he’s absolutely terrified of it. but yesterday, he smelled it and I got him to walk over it! so proud :’)
Sunday Feb 2 @ 01:13pmunconsciously-alive asked: Freedom is one DAMN attractive horse. I nearly bought a horse who was the same cross (perch/tb) although he ended up going lame. I think that they are just the right amount of crazy and sane.
thank youu!! xx yess I agree, perch/tb’s have the perfect personality. freedom’s calm and doesn’t have a temper, but occasionally he’ll get a lot of energy and his thoroughbred side shows more. :)
Thursday Feb 2 @ 07:00pmme and my friend went for a drive, because it was nice weather today. and we took all the backroads near my house for like an hour, and on the way home we stopped in at the barn, because 1. i had to pee, and 2. i wanted to see freedom. so we get to the barn, i go inside and pee, and then i grabbed a handful of treats and put them in my pocket. i walked over to freedom’s pasture, and he was wayy down at the bottom talking to the big percheron boys haha, and so i walked all the way down to see him even though it was freezing wind. i gave him some treats, kissed his face, gave him a hug, and started to walk back up and he followed me the whole way back up to the gate, and watched me leave and pull out of the driveway. :( poor boy, but i had to go home.
Sunday Feb 2 @ 09:46pmlisa replied back to me! she said she would LOVE to have me come live with her and be a working student! she has two GORGEOUS 17 hand ottb’s that she wants me to ride and exercise, and she will take me competing! the only thing is.. she’s renting her house/barn right now, so she’s looking at places to buy. and the one she looked at today she really loved and she said there’s plenty of extra bedrooms so i could live with her! i reallly really really reallly hope this works out :)
Sunday Feb 2 @ 08:24pmso I used to take lessons with this lady Lisa, and I rode with her from around 2007-2009 I believe. Well, I used to ride my pony Rabin with her, and she absolutely adored the both of us. Rabin’s my mom’s pony, so I got my own horse (Freedom) and I took a few lessons on him with her, and she loved him too. Anyways, she’s always been my favorite instructor, and she always used to tell me how much she loves me, and she was basically like my second mom kind of. So in like 2009 I was having a lesson with her one day, and she told me she was moving a little farther south in the state, and she offered for me to move in with her for the summer and be her working student. Well things came up, and I didn’t take that opportunity. But I was talking to my mom the other day, and we decided that I should do a working student type-deal thing this coming summer, but we couldn’t think of a place I would be able to do that. And then my mom mentioned Lisa, and so I’ve been thinking how awesome that would be! I’d board my horse at her facility, work there full time, and possibly live there? Or drive everyday.. something I’m not sure. But I would work off lessons or board or something, and it would be SO much fun. And it would be really beneficial to my life kind of, because I’ve gotten pretty off track with riding.. I haven’t been focused on it at all. So I sent her an email explaining that I would love to come work for her, and I’m basically willing to do anything to make it work. I really really really hope she says yes!
-I’ll attach a picture of my mom’s pony Rabin, just ‘cause he’s so gosh darn cute ;)
